According to the party, “The Imo state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, here by declares one week prayer and fasting from Sunday 9th to Sunday 16 of February, 2020.
“During this period all ward excos should request for mass in their local churches and assemble at the LGA party secretariat daily at noon for prayers and breaking of fasting.
“Prayer points asking God to intervene and restore the victory of Emeka Ihedioha as the duly elected governor of the state.
“The Imo state PDP, while urging Imolites to join in the prayers wishes to use this medium to place on record her appreciation to Imo citizens for their continued support and steadfastness.”
Reacting, Imo state Governor Hope Uzodinma, through his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachukwu, said that the PDP, has asked the poor people to pray and fast and they will be somewhere drinking champagne and enjoying themselves.
According to Nwachukwu, “Make sure that they are actually fasting or that they tell the poor people to pray and fast and they go and drink champagne and enjoying themselves.
“Imo people should not allow anybody to deceive them again. Just try and know if they are fasting. If people are fasting you should be able to know that they are fasting.”
