In a sad event, 39 people were kidnapped and four people died as bandits attacked Kuduru hamlet in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. Additionally, the attackers targeted the settlements of Garam and Azu in the nearby Niger State.
Twelve people were kidnapped and a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was killed on December 23 when the bandits attacked Garam, which is only five minutes’ drive from Bwari town.
Then, on December 28, there was another invasion in Kuduru, which is close to Garam, which resulted in the abduction of eighteen individuals. In addition, on December 29, Azu was the target of bandit raids that claimed three lives and kidnapped eight more.
As quoted by Daily Trust, a resident of Garam, who identified herself as Mrs Juliana, said: “The bandits entered a house, kidnapped two boys who led them to the house of their target.
“When they got there, they kidnapped the entire family, but while leaving the house, they shot the man (their target), who is a pastor at the RCCG, in the presence of his wife and their three children.”
