Insecurity: Buhari to Meet Security Chief, Ministers Over Attacks.
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday, directed service chiefs to attend to the reoccurring bandits’ attacks on communities in Zamfara State.
Buhari who condemned the attacks which have led to the loss of lives and displacement of residents in the affected communities directed the National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), to seek an end to banditry in the communities.
The Zamfara State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Nasir Magarya had early forwarded a letter to President Buhari to intervene and stop the banditry attacks in the State.
However, following the directives of the President to Maj. Gen. Monguno, a meeting is expected to hold to deliberate on security and the issue of illegal mining which is fueling the crisis in Zamfara State.
The meeting will be attended by Major-General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Architect Olamilekan Adegbite, Ministers of Defence, Interior, and Mines and Steel respectively.
Others include the Directors-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, and the National Intelligence Agency, NIA.
