On August 29, 2023, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State convenes an emergency security meeting at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna with some traditional chiefs and the heads of security agencies to discuss the state’s security situation.
The heads of security agencies gave briefings on the security issues in Soba, Birnin Gwari, and some other councils and reviewed the results of the efforts made so far to address the issues.
The meeting, which took place on Tuesday behind close doors at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna, was called in response to the uptick in bandit attacks and kidnappings in Soba, Zaria, Birnin-Gwari, and some other regions of Kaduna State.
Members of the state security council, such as deputy governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, emirs of Zazzau and Birnin-Gwari, ambassador Nuhu Bamalli, director of state security services, state commissioner of police, and representatives of the armed forces and paramilitary organizations were present.
