Islamic Teacher Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello Is Dead

  • Sheikh Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello has passed away at 84, making a lasting impact on the Muslim community and his supporters nationwide.

    Well-known Nigerian Islamic teacher Sheikh Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello has passed away at 84, making a lasting impact on the Muslim community and his supporters nationwide.

    His son, Katibi Abdul Basit Olanrewaju, also known as Aponle Anobi, confirmed the news today, December 6th, 2024, by posting a photo of the Sheikh on Instagram with a sad emoji.

    He wrote, “😭😭😭😭😭😭.”

    Well-known Islamic leader Taofeeq Akewugbagold announced his passing on Facebook, sharing a tribute to Alhaji Muyideen.

    He wrote, “Today is one of my saddest days ! My father and mentor, has returned to his creator. SULTONUL WAHIZEEN of Yorubaland Sheikh muhyideen AJANI BELLO,may Allah be pleased with your soul. Aljannah fridaos for you . Our heart is full of grief and our eyes full of tears but we will say nothing but what will please our Creator the sole commander of life and death – ALLAH.”

    Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello was one of the wealthiest Alfas in Nigeria. He was a well-respected Islamic scholar and cleric known for his clear speech, deep knowledge of Islamic teachings, and commitment to religious education. Born in the mid-20th century in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, he became a key figure in the Muslim community, both in Nigeria and around the world.

    Sheikh Bello made important contributions to Islamic education by helping to create and manage several schools and institutions. These schools aimed to provide quality education while instilling Islamic values. He also encouraged a balanced way of learning, blending religious studies with modern sciences and humanities.

    While the cause of his death remains a mystery, fans and followers have taken to the comment section to express their condolences.

    Sheikh Muyideen was born in 1940 to the Bello Ajani family from Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan. His parents were Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello. He began his formal education at I.D.C Primary School in Elekuro, Ibadan, and completed his secondary education there.

    Between 1963 and 1967, he studied at Mahdul Arabiy in Elekuro, gaining significant knowledge in Arabic and Islamic studies.

    From a young age, Alhaji Ajani Bello was passionate about Islamic outreach, beginning his preaching in various parts of Ibadan at the age of 10. He later taught in several secondary schools across Oyo, Ogun, and Kano States. Additionally, he served as the Missioner for the respected Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria.

    Sheikh Muyideen has been regularly invited to convey the message of Islam internationally, including in the UK, US, and neighboring African nations.
