Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, better known by his stage name Jaywon, is a Nigerian singer who has spoken his thoughts regarding musicians who maintain that no one paved the way for them.
During his Teju Babyface podcast appearance, the songwriter talked about Burna Boy in particular.
He said: “Burna is talented, everything, but when it comes to that attitude, it’s like Burna saying ‘nobody paved the way for me’. How can you say that? It’s a very wrong thing to say. You don’t understand. It’s madness.”
He added: “Because that means you’re saying from when you were little till now, no one has inspired you.
Additionally, Jaywon posted the following on X and Instagram: “It’s not going to take anything from you to give a shoutout to those that came before you…. It won’t stop your greatness. If you know you know!”
