I’ve lost respect for Soyinka, he’s now an errand boy for criminal politicians – Charly Boy compares him to late Chinua Achebe

Legendary Nigerian performer Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, recently expressed his displeasure with renowned playwright Wole Soyinka.

Charly Boy criticized him on his Instagram page for degrading himself to serve corrupt politicians.

He said he always had a great respect for him and compared him to the late Chinua Achebe, calling it a fucking shame.

But now he realizes that Soyinka will never be the same as Chinua Achebe.

“The kin respect I had for this man was almost the kind of respect I had for the late Justice C.A. Oputa, The Socrates of the Supreme Court. It has finally dawned on me that Soyinka can never be the man Chinua Achebe was.

Look at a man many Nigerians put on such a high pedestal reducing himself to a boyiboyi for criminal politicians.

What a fucking shame”.

Charly Boy recently opened up about his battle with prostate cancer.

In a post on his Instagram page, the singer and activist shared his story of overcoming prostate cancer.

Charly Boy revealed that he had been battling the illness for more than 10 days while posting a video of himself being wheeled out of the theater.

He believes that God has bestowed upon him the greatest favor by allowing him to survive.

He expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life, thanked his family for their support, and thanked the Nigerian surgeon.
