Anselme Santos, an Ivorian, has expressed regret to his spouse and children after a video of him during the ongoing AFCON went viral on the internet.
During an AFCON match, the Ivorian man was seen in the viral video asking a Senegalese woman for her phone number.
Remember that on 29, 2024, Ivory Coast, the host country, played against Senegal, the current champion, to earn a spot in the round of 16.
In contrast to expectations, Senegal and Ivory Coast played to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes; nonetheless, Senegal was eliminated and the home nation prevailed on a penalty kick.
The Ivorian man apologized in public after his video of him requesting a Senegalese woman for her phone number went popular on social media.
In his words; “I told her ‘give me your number’. But she didn’t want to. So I didn’t insist. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the lady, my wife, and my children!”
