Iyanya Finally Reveals Why He Left Don Jazzy’s Mavin Record
Popular Nigerian singer Iyanya, has finally opened up on the reason why he left Don Jazzy’s Mavin Record in under two years after he was signed unto the label.
According to an inside source, The MTN project Fame star didn’t seem to have gotten a foothold under the record label owned by one of the biggest producers in Africa, Don Jazzy. Iyanya appeared to have been struggling to repeat the same feat that made him one of Nigeria’s promising music stars five years ago.
Though, Iyanya has said his decision to leave Mavins label was because of his plan to keep seeking for ways to become better with his music career that many people believed was failing.
Iyanya, who is now signed to The Temple Music, opened up in a recent interview he granted on radio. According to him, this is the best time for him to move on in his career and face new challenges life might throw at him.
Iyanya added that he remains a Mavin for life.
With Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Dr SID, Di’ja and a number of others on the Mavin label, Iyanya failed to push his career through. He struggled to release an EP and two videos while he was with the label.
The singer however denied claims in some quarters that his exit was to connect with the big acts on the label. He mentioned that there was no beef and there will not be any beef.
He said:
‘’It was not beef. I was there and it was time to move on. I’m now signed to Temple Music but, I am a Mavin for life.’’
Mavins Record is one of the biggest record labels in Nigeria and a host to artistes that can boast of some of the biggest hits in the industry.
