Axl Rose, the vocalist of Guns N’ Roses, and well-known American actor Jamie Foxx are facing accusations of sexual assault after lawsuits were filed against them in New York on Wednesday.

These lawsuits were filed shortly before the statue of limitations ran out.

Model and actress Sheila Kennedy claims she “did not consent and felt overpowered” when she was sexually assaulted by Axl Rose in 1989.

The New York Adult Survivors Act, a statute intended to enable the litigation of sexual assault cases that happened too long ago, is the basis for the legal filing.

The accuser in Jamie Foxx’s case, known as Jane Doe, claims that Foxx, “intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch her, by groping her breasts and genitals at a Manhattan rooftop bar in 2015”.

This filing is also made under the New York Adult Survivors Act, same like the Rose case.

In both cases, punitive damages are sought and jury trials are requested. Axl Rose’s case against Kennedy claims that he used his celebrity status and authority to manipulate, control, and brutally assault Kennedy. Kennedy’s lawyers have stated that Rose forced anal sex on her and that she feared bodily violence if she objected.

The main vocalist of Guns N’ Roses, Axl Rose, 61, has not yet responded to the claims in the media. The two are reported to have met in a nightclub, and the incident took place in a hotel room in New York.

The complainant in the Jamie Foxx case asserted that the physical harm and psychological anguish she would endure would have a lasting impact on her.

The multitalented Foxx, who has achieved success in comedy, acting, and music—he even won an Oscar for his performance in “Ray”—is currently up against a difficult legal battle.

Following R&B singer Cassie’s recent rape allegation against rapper Sean Combs under the Adult Survivors Act, there are now litigation.

Notwithstanding the first legal action, the parties declared their intention to settle the dispute for an unknown sum.
