Jason Njoku, CEO of Iroko TV, has generated outrage online after gifting his son, Obi, a Nokia 5310 feature phone for his 11th birthday.
The husband of Nollywood actress Mary Njoku took to microblogging platform X to post images of his son and his present for his big day, which was yesterday.
He got his son a no-application Nokia 5310 feature phone for his birthday because he had been asking for one.
He mentioned that his son could get a smartphone on his 16th birthday.
His words: “Yesterday was Obi’s 11th birthday 🥰. His been asking for a phone. So we got him one. The no apps Nokia 5310 feature phone. 🤣. He can get a smart phone when his 16. 🙏🏾”
