Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been released.
He was released today after serving six months in jail. He was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Monday about 10 a.m. In April, The Nation reported that Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos convicted Bobrisky for Naira abuse.
The judge punished the cross-dresser without the option of a fine, saying his sentence would serve as a lesson to others who abuse the Naira.
His jail term began on March 24, coinciding with the day of his arrest.
In other news, Nigerians worldwide mourned the passing of Nigerian vlogger Abimbola Ali, also known as Afobaje, who tragically died on August 3, 2024.
He reportedly collapsed while playing football in Ikeja and was later confirmed deceased. In a recent update, Afobaje has been laid to rest, as seen in a video showing a white coffin in an ambulance.
Cameras were not permitted at the funeral. Afobaje, the only child of his parents, was raised by a single mother.
Following his passing, a Nigerian blogger, @naijashimadun_, shared their last chat from less than 24 hours before the incident on Instagram.
Abimbola Ali was renowned for his lifestyle vlogs in the Yoruba language, which set them apart and made them captivating.
