In the wake of the unfortunate murder of Christiana Idowu, afrobeat artist Adekunle Gold has expressed his views on the issue of gender-based violence.
He took to his official X account to speak directly to men, highlighting that genuine strength is demonstrated not through silence, but by confronting peers who engage in abuse, rape, or disrespect towards women.
Adekunle Gold called upon men to redefine the concept of masculinity by fostering accountability among themselves and advocating for a culture that upholds justice and respect for women.
He concluded his statement with the hashtag “JusticeforChristianah,” calling for justice for the deceased student.
“Men, true strength is not about staying silent but about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape, or demean women. Let’s redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable. JusticeforChristianah,” he wrote.
