The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has arrived in Kano for the wedding ceremony of his son, Yusuf Buhari, who is getting married to Zahra Bayero, the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi in Kano State.
The wedding will be taking place today at the palace of the Emir of Bichi.
The President had earlier visited Yola, Adamawa State to condole with the government and people of the state over the death of former permanent secretary and an elder statesman, Ahmed Joda.
Presidential aide, Buhari Sallau, in a post on Facebook, revealed that the President is now in Kano for his son’s wedding.
“President Muhammadu Buhari arrives Kano for his son, Yusuf Buhari’s wedding to Zahra Nasir Bayero taking place this afternoon at the Emir Palace in Bichi LGA,” he wrote.
GISTLOVER reported that President Buhari had already dispatched a high-level delegation for the wedding led by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Those in the delegation include the Minister of Defence, retired Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi; Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono; Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika; Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Hussein Adamu as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu.
