A well-known K-pop artist has been removed from his group following allegations of an unspecified sexual offense, as announced by his management company.

Taeil, a member of the boy band NCT, is currently under police investigation and is reportedly fully cooperating with the authorities.

His agency, SM Entertainment, issued a statement on X, indicating that Taeil will exit the group after being informed of his involvement in a criminal case concerning a sexual crime. The agency did not disclose specific details regarding the allegations.

“We acknowledge the gravity of the situation and have concluded that Taeil cannot continue participating in group activities,” the statement read.

“We have conferred with Taeil, and it has been mutually agreed that he will depart from the group.”

The acclaimed singer, whose birth name is Moon Tae-il, previously set a Guinness World Record for being the fastest individual to amass one million followers on Instagram.
