Nigerian dancer, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has opened up about the circumstances that surrounded her failed marriage among others.
Also recounting her childhood traumas, the dancer who spoke during an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, revealed that her parent’s marriage was fraught with domestic violence and that it had a negative impact on her.
The mother-of-two added that her parents fought each other with whatever objects they could find in the house and that it got to a point she began to hide knives and other dangerous objects from them.
Speaking on her failed marriage, Kaffy commented regretfully saying that if she had known, she would not have jumped into marriage.
She noted that she stopped sleeping with her ex-husband, Joseph Ameh, three years before their marriage officially ended.
According to her, the mistakes she made going into marriage was expecting her husband to make her happy.
“It’s selfish to put your happiness on another person,” Kaffy posited.
She added that going celibate was how she started healing from her husband’s betrayal and infidelity.
