2023 Budget Will Be Spent On Fighting Bandits – Katsina Gov Declares

Dikko Umaru Radda, the governor of Katsina State, has vowed firmly to ensure the security of lives and the safety of the state’s citizens as he declares war against banditry.

The Daily Trust reported that Governor Radda had pledged to give his life to put an end to banditry in the state.

The governor stated that security is a top priority in a BBC Hausa interview, adding that this is why a law establishing a volunteer force with weapons was passed.

On Tuesday, October 10, the governor officially launched the Community Watch Corps, which will work in tandem with the state’s traditional security agencies.

“We have inaugurated, trained, and equipped the volunteers, providing them with cars, motorbikes, and even armoured cars,” the governor said

Governor Radda made a suggestion about allowances, saying that the volunteers would be paid in accordance with the government’s adoption of the minimum wage system.

The general public should be aware that these volunteers are performing this work without compensation out of a sense of obligation to safeguard their families and communities, he said.
