Katsina Hisbah bans nightclubs

  • The Katsina State Hisbah Board has imposed a ban on all nightclub activities in the state, citing Islamic principles and the importance of upholding moral values.
    • Dr. Aminu Usman, the Commander-General of Hisbah, announced this in a statement issued in Katsina on Wednesday.

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has prohibited all nightclub operations throughout the state, referencing Islamic tenets and the necessity to maintain moral standards.

Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), the Hisbah Commander-General, made this announcement in a statement released in Katsina on Wednesday.

He emphasized that nightclub proprietors are required to close their venues to mitigate immoral activities, safeguard societal values, and tackle security issues within the state.

“The board warned that violators would face strict penalties. Security agencies have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the order.

“We are committed to building a morally upright society and ensuring peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman said.

The board has verified that it has notified the appropriate security agencies, including the state Commissioner for Internal Security, to ensure the effective implementation of the directive.

“This move aligns with Hisbah’s broader efforts to ensure residents continue their lives in line with religious and moral standards,” he stated.
