A guy was shocked when he went to a Keke store and was told that it now costs N2.6 million to buy one.
He expressed sadness that tricycles are now out of reach for several Nigerians.
In a TikTok video shared by @unclenasco, the guy stated that he had gone to the business to act as a guarantor for someone who wanted to buy on hire-purchase.
He stated that he declined to be the surety when he learned of the vehicle’s pricing since he was unsure whether the rider could afford it.
He wrote: “Keke is now sold for 2.6 Million Nigerian Naira and 1 dollar is now 1,800 Naira. Things are getting worse every hour of the day. Is this how we are going to continue?”
The man blamed the increased cost of Keke on dollar scarcity and Nigeria’s current FX crisis.
