He is an actor best known for his portrayal of the character Ren McCormack in the critically acclaimed 2011 musical comedy film “Footloose”, written and directed by Craig Brewer and also starred Julianne Hough and Denis Quaid. Kenny chose not to attend college after enrolling in 2002 but to move to Los Angeles, California and focus on his acting and dancing career.
At the age of six, Kenny started taking dancing lessons. In 2004, he starred as a dancer in the movie ‘You Got Served’.
He was confirmed to make his acting debut in the Oxygen cable network Made-For-Television film Center ‘Stage: Turn It Up’ as the male lead in April 2008. The film, a sequel to Center Stage, premiered in November same year.
‘Paramount Pictures’ announced in June 2010, Wormald was cast as the protagonist in the planned remake of the 1984 dance drama film ‘Footloose’.
In September of that same year the filming took place on a $24 million budget, with Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid confirmed to star.
On October 14, 2011, the film ‘Footloose’ was released with generally positive reviews from critics, with Wormald’s performance receiving mixed reviews. Kenny also starred in the mock reality web series ‘Massholes’ in 2012.
