Keyamo called out for stealing photos from U.S festival and passing it off as those from APC rally in Sokoto

Spokesman for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council Festus Keyamo has been called out for circulating photos from a festival in the U.S state of Chicago, and passing it as supporters who trooped out for Bola Tinubu’s campaign rally in Sokoto on Thursday, February 9.

Keyamo, who is also Nigeria’s Minister of Labour, had shared the photos with the caption “More pictures from the mother of all rallies in Sokoto! The signs are all there for all to see! But they are playing! Make dem dey play!! In about a fortnight, the jungle will mature!!”

However, a quick Google reverse image search revealed that the photos were from a music festival which took place in Chicago in 2021. The photos went viral at the time for a massive violation of the COVID-19 protocols as many people gathered without protective measures at the peak of the pandemic.
