Music artist Kizz Daniel has expressed his views regarding streaming farms.
The announcement that Wizkid’s latest single, ‘Dance,’ had been removed from the top position on the Top 100 chart sparked extensive discussions among music fans and influencers about the implications of streaming farms for the Nigerian music industry.
This incident led to speculation regarding potential stream deductions and the penalties typically enforced by Apple Music for streaming manipulation.
However, after a period of seven hours, the song regained its position at the top of the chart, much to the delight of Wizkid’s fanbase.
Despite this, the discourse had already begun prior to the song’s return, with numerous social media users suggesting that its removal was a consequence of streaming manipulation.
In response to the ongoing discussion, Kizz Daniel took to his X page to share his perspective, indicating that he does not oppose streaming farms.
He noted that while such practices are primarily a marketing strategy and tend to benefit artists with substantial financial resources, he emphasized that his comments were not intended to target anyone specifically.
“Farming isn’t a crime, it’s Marketing … for placement and all …. But na for who get the money 💰 We ain’t shading anybody here before una start , just tryna push the new generation to DROP THOSE HIDDEN GEMS … I won learn,” he wrote.
