Kogi Assembly To Pass Bill On Power Rotation to Various LG  In State

The Kogi State House of Assembly would pass legislation to guarantee power rotation among the state’s senatorial zones, according to Speaker Rt Honourable Aliyu Umar Yusuf.

The Kogi West Ododo/Joel Campaign Council, chaired by Mr. Funsho Olumoko, the organization’s director general, presented Umar with this information Wednesday, according to a press release chief press secretary Yabagi Mohammed signed.

A significant problem in the previous election was power rotation. The state is divided into three senatorial zones: Kogi West, Kogi East, and Kogi Central.

However, the statement said that the speaker has started talking about the idea of sponsoring a bill that will provide legislative support for the state’s rotating system of senatorial districts, thereby making them feel like they belong.

For the benefit of the community, he praised Kogi West stakeholders for their efforts in aiding Alhaji Usman Ododo’s win and emphasized the necessity of communicating with all candidates running in the Western Senatorial District.

The visit was made to express gratitude to the speaker and members of the House from the Senatorial District for their encouragement and support during the previous electioneering campaign, according to Mr. Funsho Olumoko, the DG of the Kogi West Ododo/Joel Campaign Council.

According to him, the campaign council recognized the speaker’s humility and contributions in securing the party’s electoral triumph.

The director general expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership and the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for allowing him to serve. He also mentioned that Kogi West’s stakeholders needed to band together in order to assist the next administration.

Retired Commander Jerry Omodara, the State Security Advisor, emphasized the importance of harmony among all parties in the Senatorial District.
