The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi State has refuted the circulating rumors that Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, the campaign director-general, was giving out recharge cards that would automatically deactivate the recipients’ voter cards.

The Kogi State APC Governorship Campaign Council spokesman, Kingsley Fanwo, released a press release yesterday in which the ruling party characterized the accusation as baseless and superficial.

He said, “As ludicrous and mentally indolent as the allegations are, it is pertinent to set the record straight to save the unsuspecting public from the unbridled propaganda of the opposition. Their intent is to create panic, spread falsehood and make it look like Kogi is at war.

“They know they can’t win any election here because the people of Kogi State know the leaders they trust. Our Director General, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has a reputation of transparency and respect for the rule of law.

“He possesses a capacity to be trusted and followed by the people. He does not need to contemplate any foul means of winning election when his pedigree, antecedents, track record and family background place him on a comfortable pedestal to ensure his people remain with the party that has served them so well and that will do better and more for the people at all levels.”

He, therefore, called on the people to disregard the figment of the imagination of the scripters of the fiction stressing that APC will win a free, fair and credible election on November 11.
