The Kogi State government has issued an order to immediately restrict all local and state government accounts.
Asiwaju Ashiru Idris, the commissioner of finance, signed a statement stating that going forward, no imprest or payment of any kind should be made to anyone from a government account.
All “standing orders and investment instructions are hereby cancelled forthwith,” the announcement reads.
“All Kogi State and local government accounts are hereby frozen with effect from today, Thursday 22nd November 2023.”
