The Kogi State Government has stated that it intends to pursue all individuals involved in the alive burying of an 11-year-old kid.

Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, revealed this during an interview on Thursday, October 12.

On Wednesday, it was stated that one Goodness Oshodi was discovered burying his little stepbrother, Friday Oshodi, for allegedly stealing N1,000 in Kogi state’s Apamisede, Zango Daji, Adavi Local Government Area.

The young suspect stated in a viral social media video that he was told by his mother to punish the wrongdoer. When the elder brother was arrested by neighbors, he had already buried his sibling up to the neck level.

He said in Pidgin; “He thief money. The last time he went to thief money, We dey ask am where he put the money, and I no know how much he thief oo but he said nah N1000. The last time he stole, nobody beat ham, and nobody touched Ham.”

Speaking on the incident, the commissioner said the ministry is also making all the necessary arrangements to put the victim in an orphanage home. She added that Kogi state government will ensure justice is served on all the perpetrators of the evil act.

“The victim Friday Oshodi is currently in our custody while the prime suspect Goodness Oshodi is in Police net. This is wickedness in the highest order. How will somebody bury his fellow human alive?

“The woman who ordered the punishment of this young boy is currently at large. I’m assuring the general public that she will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law,” Buba stated.
