The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dino Melaye, is yet to cast his ballot a few minutes before the end of the voting process.
Only a few minutes remain in the voting process before Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee for governor, casts his ballot.
At this point, agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had reached his voting location.
Melaye’s registration is at the state’s Iluafon quarters, Aiyetoro 1, Ijumu Local Government Area.
The PUNCH claims that Dino and Leke Abejide, also known as “Elder,” are the two front-runners for the governorship of the Kogi West Senatorial District. Dino is a candidate for the African Democratic Congress.
Election watchers claim that Dino’s prospects of winning the governorship may be impacted by Abejide, a current lawmaker.
Since the state’s founding, Kogi West, where Dino is from, has never produced a governor.
Kogi state, known as the “confluence state,” will choose its next governor from among its approximately 1.8 million registered voters.
Despite the fact that INEC reports that eighteen candidates are running for governor, observers predict that Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress, Muritala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party, and Dino Melaye of the PDP will compete fiercely.
