Nigerian fashion designer Oluwaseun Kuforiji, known as Koil Creation, has been sewing for over 72 hours in a Sew-A-Thon.
So far, Koil has hand-sewn 10 traditional outfits, highlighting the beauty of African culture and skill.
This achievement is part of his goal to earn a Guinness World Record while honoring the classic beauty of traditional African clothing.
He plans to hold a 120-hour Sew-A-Thon in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
Among the completed items are beautiful designs such as Agbada, Danshiki, Kimono, Long Gowns, and more, all crafted using only a needle and thread.
The event has gained significant attention from across Nigeria and beyond, with important visits from Professor Oluwole Banjo, the Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, and other university leaders. They commended Koil Creation, a TASUED alumnus, for his hard work and outstanding talent.
Koil Creation, recognized for its creativity and enthusiasm, explained the inspiration behind the challenge.
He said “This is more than a personal achievement—it’s about honoring our culture, inspiring young creatives, and showing the world the strength of Nigerian talent.”
The Sew-A-Thon is a celebration of talent, stamina, and cultural pride, emphasizing the amazing creativity of Nigerians. As he nears the 120-hour target, fans are encouraged to keep supporting him, whether locally or through social media.
Koil Creation’s journey goes beyond setting a record; it aims to create history, celebrate culture, and inspire people everywhere.
