A recent graduate from Oxford Brookes University in the UK, who hails from Nigeria, expressed her worries as her mother celebrated her academic achievement by praising herself and her husband.
In the post, the mum highlighted the daughter’s academic success while congratulating themselves for doing a great job instead of their daughter.
“I am thankful to God for the success of the Masters degree graduation of my beautiful daughter Oluwatosin Tosin Toge at Oxford, United Kingdom.
Congratulations to me and my husband. Praise God!” she wrote.
In reaction, Tosin lamented why her parents congratulated themselves instead of her who is the actual celebrant.
“I was the one who graduated. Which one is “congratulations to me and my husband,” As how?” she wrote.
