She uploaded a TikTok video that displays a WhatsApp conversation with her Yoruba boyfriend in Germany, whom she met on Instagram.

The video is titled “I met a Yoruba man in Germany on IG, and here are his relationship rules.”

In one of the screenshots, her boyfriend details his expectations about her business dealings and financial openness.

“Because from your WhatsApp, it seems like you are doing a lot of different kinds of side businesses. I am wary of that because on the one side, I don’t want my woman moving outside a lot because of her possibly interacting with males of any kind,” he wrote.

He continued, emphasizing his desire for control over her finances: “I want complete visibility over the whole finances of my woman. I believe in the Yoruba culture that our parents teach us, which is that it is the man who is the head of the household and therefore is responsible for the finances of the household. Any money the woman earns from her work she will make visible to her [husband].”

The Germany-based boyfriend added, “I prefer to always say immediately if I see something I don’t like. I cannot keep it inside. Do you understand?”
