Lady shares how man berates her for refusing to visit his house 2 days after meeting

A 22-year-old woman from Nigeria recounts her experience with a 36-year-old man she encountered through a friend of her mother’s, who reacted negatively after she declined his invitation to visit his home just two days after their initial meeting.

This account is shared in a lengthy video posted on her TikTok page.

In the video, she explains that her mother had recently informed her about a conversation with a man who expressed his desire to find a woman to marry.

After some reflection, she requested her mother to provide the man with her contact information so he could reach out to her.

During their first meeting at his office, she discovered his age, and he gave her ₦6,000 after dropping her off.

She further elaborated that just two days post their meeting, the man invited her to his house to deepen their acquaintance.

However, she felt it was premature and communicated this to him.

In response, the man insisted that he needed to understand her better, including her cooking skills, and for her to become more familiar with him.

Despite his reasoning, she declined the invitation.

Subsequently, he began to accuse her of seeking a wealthy partner and wanting to benefit without contributing.

Her statement: “One Sunday when I just got back from church, I received a call from my mum. My mum was telling me about how one of her friends was talking to a man who said he needed a lady and wanted to settle down.”

“I was already getting mad at my mum. I really didn’t want you to be doing things like this.”

“After a second thought, I was like, tell your friend that she can give the man my number so we can talk. We started talking, myself and the man, and he told me he was in his mid-30s. I think he said 36 going on 37.”

“I was already losing it because I’m 22, and the age gap was too much. I really didn’t want to do this, but since it’s my mum and her friend, I believed they knew what was best for me.”

“When I started talking to this man, I didn’t like how our conversation went. He’s older than me, so we’re going to disagree a lot. I was like, let me manage. I can’t continue to shut people down.”

“When I got back to Abuja, he asked me to come to his office to meet him. I said no problem, and went to his office. We started talking, then we went to get food, and he asked me what I’d like to do after service.”

“I told him everything, and he was impressed. He then told me that he recently created an application and wanted me to use my knowledge to promote it, and also that he was going to pay me.”

“He decided to drop me off, and when he did, he squeezed ₦6,000 into my hand. I wasn’t expecting him to give me anything. From the onset, he had already struck me as one of those men who like to know you before they can give you money.”

“When I got home, we started texting, and two days after, he texted me asking me to come to his house. I said, ‘Isn’t it too early for you to be inviting me to your house?’ He replied, ‘Why are you acting like you’re a baby?’”

She articulated several additional points in the video, disclosing that the man resorted to using offensive language towards her simply because she informed him that she would not be visiting his residence, as it felt premature.

Numerous viewers who encountered the video inundated the comment section of the post to express their opinions.
