A Nigerian woman turns to social media to describe her lengthy experience with bleaching and how she ultimately quit the practice to get healthy skin.
She shared the video on her Tiktok account, @christyyanah, where it gathered popularity.
According to her, she began bleaching in 2023 and struggled to stop.
She explained that her face was very white, her knuckles were darker, and she knew she needed to quit.
The young girl added that returning to her original colour was the most difficult part since she initially became so dark and many people began to wonder if something was wrong with her.
She confesses that having her original skin colour has improved her life and made her skin healthier, giving her the courage to snap images without a filter, which she couldn’t do previously.
She is now an ambassador against skin bleaching, dedicating her page to those ladies who are struggling to stop.
