A young Nigeria lady has recounted a surprising experience with a new friend who asked for money for transportation before their planned outing.
Chisom Melisa, a TikTok user, started a discussion online after sharing how she met a girl and they decided to meet face-to-face.
She was surprised when her friend requested money for transport, even though Chisom had already offered to pay for their drinks.
“I met a girl on TikTok; we were always talking and chatting until we became friends. She always said she was busy with work and suggested we hang out. I agreed and said we should hang out, and I’d pay for the drinks. Then she asked, ‘Hope you will give me transport fare?’ I went numb for a minute. Like, why? I’m already paying for the drinks, and you’re asking for transport fare,” Chisom narrated in disbelief.
The video has received a variety of responses on social media. Some users backed Chisom and criticized the friend’s request, while others compared it to situations where men face similar problems with women.
