A lady who accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z of sexually assaulting her at the age of 13 has dropped her civil lawsuit.
Court records indicate that she made this decision on Friday.
“The document filed with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York claims the accuser “hereby gives notice that the above-captioned action is voluntarily dismissed, with prejudice” — meaning the suit cannot be refiled,” the document read.
Shawn Carter, better known as Jay Z, was accused in December of raping a girl alongside Combs at a party after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000.
It remains uncertain whether the stars have come to a settlement with the woman, who has not been named.
The 55-year-old billionaire Jay-Z expressed relief at the case’s closure, describing it as “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.”
“This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims,” he said in a statement.
