Late Rapper, Mac Miller Receives Posthumous Grammy Nomination
Late rapper Mac Miller has received a posthumous Grammy nomination, having gotten a nod for Swimming in the Best Rap Album section.
It is his first Grammy Award nomination.
The fifth studio album from Miller, Swimming was released on 3 August – just over a month before he was found dead at his home outside Los Angeles at the age of 26.
Shortly after his death, former girlfriend Ariana Grande shared a short video of the two together on her Instagram page, writing:
“I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times.
“I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long.
“Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved.
“I hope you’re okay now. Rest.”
Many other famous faces paid tribute to the late musician, including fellow rapper Post Malone.
