Lawmaker Tests Positive to COVID-19 after Vaccination.
Kevin Brady, a United States lawmaker, has tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after he received the first dose of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech.
Brady, a Republican member of the US House of Representatives, in a statement via his Twitter page on Tuesday said he contracted the virus shortly before he was due to receive the second dose of the vaccine.
The Texas lawmaker noted that he is currently in isolation after receiving his COVID-19 results on Tuesday night.
Brady said he received a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on December 18 and also recently tested negative for COVID on New Year’s Day.
He wrote:
“Tonite the Office of House Physician informed me that I’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and am quarantined.
“As recommended, I received a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on December 18 and also recently tested negative for COVID on New Year’s Day.”
The vaccine’s regimen is two doses per patient 21 days apart Gistlover understands.
