Lawyer blames ‘other room deprivation’ as the cause of rising divorce rate

The increasing number of divorce cases in Nigeria has caught the attention of a lawyer who raised concerns, especially regarding situations where women withhold intimacy from their husbands.

@Wizarab10, a social media influencer, recently shared a lawyer’s message on the X platform, stating that 90% of divorce cases involve men who have been denied sexual relations by their wives, even though they are legally married.

Highlighting a specific case, the lawyer mentioned a client who has not engaged in intimacy with his wife for nearly a year.

In his words, “My Guy. The number of divorce cases I’ve seen this year alone is crazy. Whenever I walked into my office & see files pile up I’m always scared cause 9 out of 10 cases would be divorce, and they all have one common reason “Sex starvation from the wife”.

“It’s crazy how these women change the moment they get married. Why the hell did you marry in the first place if you know you won’t give in to sex as often as possible? The client I got yesterday is even worst. His last sex was early 2023. Over a yr now with his legally married wife.”
