Nigerian comedian Sabinus, also known as Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, has expressed regret to Ghanaians for making fun of them following their defeat in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition.
His remarks follow the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s defeat at the hands of the host nation, Ivory Coast, in Sunday’s AFCON final match, which was held at Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
When Nigerians vented their disappointment, many pointed the finger at José Peseiro, the team’s coach, and the Super Eagles players.
Sabinus, however, asked for Ghanaians’ forgiveness, urging them to live with love and togetherness with Nigerians.
He shared a photo of himself pleading and captioned, “Ghanaians Please forgive and forget”. He furthered, “Ghana 🇬🇭 No Vex !!! We Move ❤️ One Love 🏃♀️😂”.
