American gay Rapper, Lil Nas X’s first popular song, ‘Old Town Road’ featuring Billy Cyrus has been certified fifteen (15) times RIAA platinum.
The song has become the highest certified song in Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) history. ‘Old Town Road’ is the most popular song of the Georgia-based Rapper. The remix which features legendary American artiste, Billy Cyrus took off straight to the top of the charts after its release.
The song is also the longest-running number-one song on Billboard. It sat on the number one position for 19 weeks. Surpassing Maria Carey’s ‘One Sweet Day.’ He is also the first black man to acquire such a milestone.
Lil Nas X after becoming popular as of the time ‘Old Town Road’ was making trends got an ambassadorial deal from Wrangler jeans for promoting the cowboy brand, however, the clothing company called off the deal because they claimed they weren’t okay with his sexuality; that is, being gay.
He is presently one of the most-streamed black artistes in America. His recently released album, MONTERO, has been certified by highly reputable people in the society like Ex-President Obama, Iconic English Singer, Elton John, and more.
