President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially signed a bill to reinstate the old National Anthem, “Nigeria, we hail thee.”
This decision has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians on social media. Many believe that this move is a misplaced priority.
The bill has successfully passed through both the Senate and the House of Representatives, and once it receives final approval, the current anthem, “Arise O Compatriots,” will be replaced.
President Tinubu’s action comes on the one-year anniversary of his presidency, which began constitutionally in 2023 after winning the presidential election.

brightidika: Hope this anthem will solve all of Nigeria’s problems ranging from insecurity, hypertension, unemployment, tribal and religious bigotries to high exchange rates, high interest rate, multiple taxation etc.
