A Nigerian entrepreneur, who operates a makeup business, has dismissed five of her trainees for spending the night at their boyfriends’ residences prior to an important business engagement.
The entrepreneur recounted the situation in a video shared on her TikTok account, where she conveyed her disappointment. In the video, she detailed that she had a significant job planned, with herself and her team prepared to serve 18 clients.
To facilitate a smooth operation, she had requested all her trainees to stay at her residence the night before, allowing them to be better prepared for the appointment and the makeup application for the clients.
However, five of the trainees did not arrive. Upon contacting them and some of their parents, she learned that the young women had opted to spend the night at their boyfriends’ homes to cook for them.
She said: “When I called these animals that are from Cross River and Akwa Ibom state. I called their parents and they told me that that night, they went to sleep in their boyfriend’s houses. Some of them didn’t sleep in their houses. When I called some they told me, ‘Madam I went to the market to cook for my boyfriend.”
Frustrated by their choices, the entrepreneur announced that she would not be reinstating them and instructed them to refrain from returning to her establishment.
The video has gained significant attention, with numerous social media users engaging in the comments to express their opinions on the situation.
