Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde has expressed his condolences with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun and the resident of Ibadan over the death of the Ekefa Olubadan and Babasale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Senior Chief Lateef Oyelade.
On Saturday, the governor sent deep condolences to both the Senior Chief’s immediate family and the local Muslim community in Ibadanland. He prayed to God for the late Chief Oyelade’s soul to find peace.
Governor Makinde praised the late elder statesman as a pillar of the community and a person who was deeply committed to the advancement of Ibadan and Oyo State, noting that the dead made significant contributions to the city’s development on his own terms.
He said: “I express my condolences to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun and the traditional council, over the death of the Ekefa Olubadan, Senior Chief Lateef Oyelade.”
“I equally condole with the immediate family of Baba and the Muslim Ummah in Ibadanland to whom he was a patron and a great figure as Babasale Musulumi of Ibadanland. I pray that Allah SWT grants him Aljanah Firdaus.”
