An Imo resident was faced with a hard choice of exhuming the remains of his parents buried two years ago, following the planned expansion of a highway by Imo State Government along Wheathral Road in Owerri.
The man who was given a deadline by the authorities who believed the grave may affect the road’s expansion, dug up the grave of his late parents over the night while surrounded by his friends.
Facebook user, Mr. Ugochukwu Ezeji who shared the story wrote;
Even the dead cannot rest in peace under Rochas administration. My friend exhumed his parents remains to make way for nonsense road expansion along whethral road. God is watching. Feeling very sad.

So apparently the Imo State governor forced a man to exhume his father’s corpse from grave, so apparently even the dead are not safe from this fraudulent APC government, under APC even the dead cannot rest in peace anymore

This isn’t the first time the Imo State Government has been enmeshed in a land battle scandal. In 2017, a young Nigerian boy identified as 10-year-old Somtochuku was reportedly hit and killed by a stray bullet, after he went to help his mother move her wares following the demolition of the ancient Eke Ukwu market in Owerri, by the State Government.
While the traders and occupants of the market protested wildly against the move, the demolition still took place. A huge number of soldiers were said to have been deployed to the market area ahead of the demolition. The indigenes of Owerri had fought hard on the move, stating that the market is a part of their traditional heritage and should not be touched. They said the market could be upgraded with modern facilities, instead of being demolished.
Governor Rochas Okorocha launched the motion for the market to be moved to another location, stating that the activities of the traders around the market often caused traffic problems. He was said to have cited the activities on Douglas road, as one of the main reasons the market should be moved.
