A Nigerian man recounted how he accidentally got on a motorcycle operated by a police officer disguised as an okada rider in Challenge, Ilorin.

He shared this story on TikTok, mentioning that it happened some time back but has stayed with him since then.

He reported that he had gone to a famous location in Ilorin called Challenge. As the night wore on, he struggled to locate a bike to return home.

In the end, he found a bike and set off on his way.

He mentioned that it’s usual for police officers to be present in the area.

As they got closer to Tanke, the bike rider kept asking him which way he wanted to go, suggesting there might be police nearby. Still, he confidently told the rider that he had nothing to worry about.

The bike rider stopped at a police roadblock and spoke briefly with the officers before proceeding.

When the rider arrived at his destination, he startled him by removing his camouflage and revealing his true identity as a police officer.

    Recounting the incident, he wrote:

“I went to Challenge and stayed there till around 10 p.m. I finally found an okada, and while nearing Tanke junction, the bike man asked me which route I wanted him to take because of the police.”

“He asked the first time, and I said there was no problem. He asked again a few minutes later, then a third time, and I assured him that I don’t engage in anything illegal.”

“At the first checkpoint, he spoke to the officers, showed them something, and they let him pass.”

Reflecting on the experience, he noted that the situation could have ended differently if he had been involved in anything illegal.

As the post gained traction online, many social media users took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the unusual encounter.
