A Nigerian individual recently took to social media to recount a distressing incident involving rejection and being blocked by a potential employer for a video editor position after revealing his nationality.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he recounted his interaction with the employer. The young man had sent a private message to express his interest in the job opportunity.
Following his expression of interest, the employer inquired about his age and location. Upon disclosing that he was Nigerian, he faced an unexpected rejection and was subsequently blocked.
He accompanied his post with the poignant remark: “I hate that I am Nigerian to some extent.”
As the post gained visibility, numerous concerned individuals flocked to the comments section to offer their thoughts and support.
