A Nigerian man has told the painful story of how his wife, whom he financed through university and purchased a car for, broke their marriage at a UK airport just hours after he arrived with their children.

The story, told in a popular video on X (previously Twitter), describes how the man funded his wife’s studies at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and assisted with their relocation abroad.

According to him, after finishing her degree, his wife offered they go to Canada, but when that idea failed, she advocated moving to the United Kingdom. She went first, and he subsequently joined her with their children.

On October 7, he notified his wife that they had arrived in the United Kingdom. She arrived at the airport with six friends, some of whom she assigned to take the children to a local shopping mall for a supper.

In a surprising change of events, she demanded to check their passports, withdrew the children’s passports without his knowledge, handed him his back, and declared their marriage over.

His words:

“When we got married, she was in her first year at UNILAG. I sponsored her education, bought her a car, and did everything a man could do for his wife.”

“She suggested we move to Canada, but that didn’t work out, so she proposed the UK. Instead of traveling together, she went first.”

“I arrived in the UK with our children on October 7 and called her at the airport. She showed up with six friends, using crutches with a cast on her right leg. When I asked what happened, she said she had a domestic fall.”

“She sent four of her friends to take the children to a shopping complex and then asked to check our passports to see if they were properly stamped. I handed them to her without suspecting anything. Before I knew it, she had taken the children’s passports, returned mine, and told me it was over between us.”

“I was speechless. I asked what the issue was, and she simply said, ‘I’m done with you.’”
