Man Sparks Debate Over Pastor Blessed And Banky W Unusual Handshake

  • A Facebook user named Assam Unwana raised concerns about a handshake between Pastor Blessed and Banky W.
  • Assam suggested the handshake resembled secretive greetings linked to certain groups.
  • Assam questioned the appropriateness of the handshake for a pastor, hinting at possible fraternity ties.
  • A Facebook user, Assam Unwana, has sparked controversy by expressing concerns over a handshake exchanged between Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, the husband of popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, and his best man, singer Banky W.

Assam took to social media to question the nature of the handshake, claiming it bore a resemblance to secretive greetings associated with certain groups. He was surprised that such a gesture was displayed openly, especially on a significant occasion like Pastor Blessed’s wedding.

According to Assam, the handshake seemed unusual for a pastor, leading him to speculate about the possibility of Pastor Blessed being affiliated with a fraternity. He argued that as a spiritual leader, the pastor should maintain a level of transparency and avoid actions that could raise doubts among his followers.

The post quickly gained attention online, with mixed reactions from social media users. While some agreed with Assam’s observations and expressed their own doubts, others dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that handshakes can have different meanings depending on context and cultural background.

Supporters of Pastor Blessed and Mercy Chinwo defended the couple, stating that such speculations were unnecessary and aimed at creating unnecessary controversy. They emphasized that a handshake does not define a person’s faith or spiritual standing.

Neither Pastor Blessed nor Mercy Chinwo has responded to the claims, and the discussion continues to generate buzz online. Many have urged people to focus on the couple’s marriage and ministry rather than making assumptions based on personal interpretations.

As the debate rages on, it remains uncertain whether Pastor Blessed will address the concerns or let them fade away with time.

According to him: “Haven’t we seen, heard, or known of many pastors in Nigeria, Akwa Ibom state being devoted members of secret cults who still “Claw/anchor” themselves in events?”

He also noted that being a pastor is not a great deal today: “Anyone can become a pastor, and some already have, including cultists, assassins, kidnappers, drug lords, criminals, Yahoo boys, politicians, witches, native doctors, and pagans.”
