Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been voted the Professional Footballers Association Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month for December. The 35-year-old beat Liverpool’s Adam Lallana Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Tottenham’s Dele Alli among others to the award.
According to reports, nearly 64,000 votes were cast in the poll, which was held on the Sky Sports website and apps, with Ibrahimovic claiming victory with 24,092 votes.
Lallana came second with 17,935 votes, while Azpilicueta was third with 11,944 votes. Tottenham’s Dele Alli got 5,863 votes, Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford 2,874 and West Ham’s Dimitri Payet 1,264.
Ibrahimovic scored five league games in December as United went on a six-match winning streak.
