Threads, a new app from Mark Zuckerberg, is one of the topics of discussion online as the new social media platform surpasses 30 million sign-ups in a single day.
Threads was developed by Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of the popular social media sites Facebook and Instagram, to compete with Twitter.
The new app Threads resembles Elon Musk’s well-known microblogging service, Twitter.
Threads is referred to in Meta as a “text-based conversation app” and is currently offered on the Play Store and Apple App Store.
With 1.4 million followers each as of the time this content was filled, Mark Zuckerberg and the actor Will Smith are the two users with the most followers.
Today, July 6th, 2023, President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu joined the new app, Threads.
Joining the app, Tinubu wrote; “My fellow Tailors, Idan has landed.”
Davido, Burnaboy, Banky W, Taaooma, Hilda Baci, Enioluwa, Tobi Bakre, VJ Adams, Mr. Macaroni, Ifu Ennada, Iyabo Ojo, Tolanibaj, and Erica are other Nigerians who are active on the app.
Along with that, there are famous people like Nastyblaq, comedian Ebiye, Kunle Remi, Ayra Starr, Korede Bello, Mercy Aigbe, Mayorkun, MC lively, Sean Tizzle, Omawunmi, Waje, Dayo Amusa, Ninola, Pere, Liquorose, Maria Chike, James Brown, Ashmusy Istablog9ja, Arole, Jaywon, and others.
Mark Zukerbeg wrote; “Wow, 30million sign ups as of this morning feels like the beginning of something special, but we have got a lot of work ahead to build out the app.”
