Mary Njoku expresses sadness about how people misuse social media to solve problems

  • Mary Njoku has shared her perspective on social media and its improper use in addressing real-life issues.
    • She observed that many people act as “keyboard warriors,” voicing their complaints online instead of tackling problems face-to-face.

Mary Njoku, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has shared her perspective on social media and its improper use in addressing real-life issues.

She observed that many people act as “keyboard warriors,” voicing their complaints online instead of tackling problems face-to-face.

As a mother of three and the founder of Rok TV, she longs for the days when people could have meaningful conversations about their challenges.

Njoku pointed out that some individuals seek public sympathy and temporary fame on social media, which stops real change from happening.

She advised that after using social media, people should return to dealing with issues in real life, where their struggles are not publicly scrutinized.

@adaofanambra: “Social media is not real life.”

@okeybakassi: “Well said. Some problems are best solved “face to face.” Using your personal problems to entertain people who don’t care or probably have worse problems than you is an effort in futility.”
